For almost 40 years, Scott has been the John Deere construction and
forestry dealer in Utah, eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming.
Through the years Scott has expanded its product lines and has opened
new locations while maintaining its focus on reliable service and
long-term relationships.
Brent
Scott started the business in 1968 with four people in an old converted
service station at 1404 South Third West in Salt Lake City. Brent Scott reflects
that in 1968 he had a clear goal, "As the new kid on the block, I
wanted only to stay in business and show longevity. Equipment purchases
are an important investment. People buying equipment want to count on
you being there to back the product, service it, and provide parts for
its life."
That
first year Scott machinery totaled $200,000 in business. Thirty years
later, the company has expanded to eight locations, 135 employees, and
over $100 million dollars of business each year. How can they have
grown so steadily? Current president Dave Scott believes,
"It's because we've focused on our customers and grown with them
and with our area."
Jeff Scott joined the
business in 1999 and is currently vice president, Wasatch Division
Manager.
